I have a dual booted Mac that I used Boot Camp to dual boot windows. The instructions in Boot camp specifically say the driver disc “that comes with all Macs” is needed. Mine didn’t come with one when I bought it new 4 months ago. I called the Mac Store and talked to two seperate people at the “Genius Bar” and they have no clue what I am talking about and have no clue what a driver disc it. Which, doesn’t seem very genius to me. So, of course, without the drivers, I have no sound on the Windows side, I can’t watch DVD’s on the Windows side, I can’t connect to a WiFi on the Windows side, etc, etc, etc.
So, my question is, where do I get the “drivers” for Windows to operate the hardware on this machine??

First make sure you know what version of OS X you have: Choose ‘About this Mac’ from the Apple menu in the top menu bar.

In Macs that came installed with OS X versions up to 10.6.x, the Windows drivers were integrated into the OS X Install DVD (you insert the OS X install DVD *in Windows*, then start the Setup.Exe…)

Starting with Macs that come with 10.7.x, Apple doesn’t ship any install DVD anymore (switched to use a recovery hard drive partition and/or Internet Recovery…) Here you need to launch the BootCamp Assistant application and have it download the Windows support software package directly from Apple:

Launch Applications > Utilities > Bootcamp Assistant.app.
In the Bootcamp Assistant, you will get to a Task Selection screen. There you need to tick the option ‘Download the latest Windows support software.’ You will the be asked if you want to burn the downloaded software on a disc or just save it on the hard drive, e.g., if you want to copy it on a USB flash drive to use it in Windows.

And by that I mean people, not the concepts themselves. Why is that intelligent people, geniuses, and others of the sort are made famous by society, idolized and so appreciated, in a way that they seem like gods in comparison to the average person?

Intelligent, genius people are like that by accident. They were born that way, and didn’t have a choice in it. Why do we label them in such ways? Like we say about some famous celebrities that they are “the best in the world” and things like that. Do you really think Einstein was the only person with that brain? What if there are millions of them born everyday but they never become as famous as him because of other things, like dying from an illness, being born in Africa, being born in a broken family, just living in bad circumstances, etc.? Now imagine that we have so many other “celebrities” that we literally worship, like Lady Gaga and countless others just like her, and examples such as these are far inferior to Einstein. Why are we doing this…? What if some super genius is living right now in extreme poverty in the middle of nowhere, suffering from some horrible illness unable to express himself? There must be millions of cases such as these.

Do we really need celebrities before we “fix” the world?

I can lock every door and unlock with the remote except the driver door I have to use the key on that one.i put a new actuator in,I checked wires,I pulled the control module and checked fuses and their all fine.my driver door handle inside the car has that switch and it doesnt work either so do I need a new control module or is this another problem because I did everything.I know there is a genius on here that knows how to fix this please help and not hold back on me.

I have a 2001 laptop computer that I want to reformat. I would like to know how to make it go into DOS format so I can reformat it clean before I reload Windows onto it. Also, what do I type into DOS to get it to start formating.

I use to know how to do this, but I just don’t remember the steps, once I read it again I am sure it will come all back .

During bootup, hold down shift and start pressing the f8 key until you get a boot menu. Choose to boot to DOS prompt. Once there, type “format c: /s”. Make sure you have drivers for all of your hardware before you do this. This command will format your hard drive leaving only the system files needed for it to boot back to a DOS prompt afterwards.

My scanner is a Genius ColorPage HR7X Slim.

I don’t have my Driver CD with me, so i installed driver online. Then my computer recognizes the scanner well, and everything is alright except for the fact that the scanner won’t work. everytime i turn on my computer i receive a message “Scanner not found”. Some people say it’s because i didn’t install the software needed for the Genius scanner to work properly. I have no idea what it is. Can anyone help me please ? I’m hopeless (

The error messages “Scanner Not Found” or “Sorry, Scanner Could Not Be Initialized” appear after installing the HP Scanning software and collecting the computer name and TCP/IP from the host computer system and then installing HP remote scanning software on the remote computer system.
One possible cause for these error messages is that the remote computer system has not identified the host computer system correctly.

Another possible cause is that another series scanner was previously installed on the computer system as a remote scanner using a LAN scanning software installation, and is now installed and connected directly to that computer system.

Step 1: Fill in the information for host computer
Step 2: Disable the Use Remote Scanner feature
Step 3: Uninstall and reinstall the HP Precisionscan Pro software

I use Windows 7 and I’ve had this laptop (Toshiba) for seven months. I draw for a hobby and I am a digital artist, and earlier I plugged my Genius Tablet into the the USB port closest to me, and then the laptop suddenly crashed – it DIDN’T crash when I uploaded it in the OTHER USB port.

I also downloaded a new driver yesterday (because the pen pressure sensitivity wasn’t working correctly in Paint Tool Sai), if that helps any.

The driver wouldn’t effect it on a single port.
You should try plugging in another USB device in that port to see if the port is the problem itself.
But first look inside the port to see if the metal contacts have been bent in anyway.

Micronet SP2500K

It is a 10/100 network card. I tried to use driver genius but i didn’t work.
I don’t know how to find the hardware ID…i thought the model number is enough.

As for getting another one I have one in the mail but it’s almost christmas and it takes a while to receive items from hong kong.

If you could give more details about the network card, there can be a possibility to find similar driver to fit your network card.
Give us the Hardware ID and we could search for possible driver for your network card.

EDIT: On your desktop, My Computer icon, left click MANAGE, from there your will find Device Manager, after opening device manager, go to your Network Card marked with Yellow ! click properties -> details and from there you will see Hardware ID.
Copy paste the Hardware ID and do a google search or paste in here so we can try to find an proper driver for your Network Card.

I just did a clean install/upgrade on a friends laptop from vista to windows 7. She already warned me she had no sound because the geniuses at Staples told her the MB broke and it was hardware. Well after the install and first run of windows update… The default audio driver kicked in and the sound worked great! After updating the Chipset and a couple other drivers. I noticed the red circle over the speaker icon in the taskbar. Saying no device was connected. Went back into device manager and sure enough, no more speaker device registered at all. Not even a spot to throw a driver into. It vanished. The laptop is a HP Pavilion dv69?? Entertainment Notebook PC series. nvidia graphics card,using AMD processor. Wish I could give more info on the situation or the model laptop.
One thing I did catch though was after the chip set driver, I used a drivers pro program to hunt down the driver for the last yellow triangle. Labeled Coprocessor or something like it. What ever driver fixed that, also stole my audio device before I could install a driver for it. The only option I can think of now, since I was so careless during install… Is to wipe all installed drivers and see if it pops back up. then make that first priority. I’m open to any suggestions because this is a first for me. (To see a device simply vanish and not work while installing drivers.)

I have a Macbook Pro and everytime i go on, it will disconnect from the internet eventually. Sometimes it will be like a half hour other times 5 minutes but it always disconnects and then reconnect again. I also have a desktop computer and it is also a mac and the internet connection is fine on that. I was wondering how do I fix the problem on my laptop. Thanks.

Repeated disconnects and reconnects can often mean the wifi card is failing, especially if other computers don’t have the same issue at your house. It could also be a driver problem, but that’s less likely, as most Macbooks automatically update to new driver versions periodically. I would attempt to test it on another wireless network, such as a friends home network. If the same problem occurs, see about taking it to an Apple store. Set up a Genius Bar appointment ahead of time and they can attempt to diagnose the exact problem. They may be able to replace the card on site if it turns out to be bad as well.

When reformatting, reinstalling the operating system, it is still better to backup your important files and drivers first before proceeding to installation. For driver Backup, i recommend using Driver Magician or Driver Genius Professional 2007.

Follow these instructions:
Desktop – Windows XP and Vista
1. Restart your computer then press Delete a number of times until the BIOS Setting will appear.
2. Change your boot sequence under Advance Options and can be configured usually located on the 2nd columm or second row depending on the BIOS installed in your PC.
3. Set your CD ROM as your Primary Boot Device then exit.
4. Apply and save the current settings then exit and your computer will restart automatically.
5. Insert the Windows Installation Disc then Wait until the computer prompts you to boot from a CD or DVD then press any key to boot on your Windows Installation Disc.
5. When the Windows setup appears, just follow the instructions to continue the Installation.

Note: If you have already backup your files, it is better to delete the partition C first then format that partition on the Windows Installation progress.

For Laptop Computers
Usually, if you insert the Windows Installation Disc, it will automatically boot from the Disc. When it prompts you to press any key, just press any key to boot from the disc and the Windows Setup will now appear.
Just follow the step by step instructions and that’s it.
